Directions: Head south on I-5 from Eugene towards Creswell. Take a right on to Camas Swale Road. At Territorial Highway take a left. Lorane is 3.3 miles south of here.
Lorane’s Post Office was established on May 27, 1887. The first postmaster was William N. Crow. Postmaster authorities asked Crow to come up with a name for the Post Office, he choose the name Loraine for a favorite niece. The Post Office accepted the name, but changed it to Lorane to reduce confusion with other towns already named Loraine.
According to History of Oregon, Volume One by Charles Henry Carey, Thomas Riley Crow from Lorane died in WWI.
