When I was a kid my Dad took me hunting out near Halfway. I remember portions of the old buildings being intact out in the woods. I may have to go back and see if I can find it again.
Hi Lydia! Thanks for stopping by! If you get any pictures of places near Halfway, I’d love to post copies of them. I have not had a chance to get out there in a while myself, but hope to do so soon.
Are you talking about the existing town that is 35 miles from Baker? It still has a school district, grocery, a restaurant and bar, a mercantile. It’s very tiny, but people still live there.
Actually this one would have been in Klamath County. It was a stage stop and had a post office for a couple of years. I don’t know if it had a store but it died as soon as the railroad bypassed it.
