Ghost town of Richmond, Oregon
Ghost town of Richmond, Oregon
Located about 15 miles north east of Mitchell, or 25 miles driving, Richmond is another town that is a shadow of it’s former self. Unlike most other Oregon Ghost Towns, it neither celebrates it’s heritage, nor seems to care about preservation. All the buildings in town look to be actively used, at a minimum as storage. The church and school are in good shape, but the store and old black smith shop, along with a couple of houses are in pretty bad shape. The locals didn’t seem to be friendly either, thus the less then stellar pictures.
You can see the school behind the church. This is the only location that you can see it from the road. The dirt road to the right hand side of the church (in this picture) goes down to the school house has a wire fence and a “No Trespassing” sign across it.
Store? Tavern? Blacksmith shop? No clue. But the front “yard” was covered with junk metal, old cars, and various cast off pieces from decades past.
