Back in the early 80s, our family used to go ghost town hunting and we found the town of Lonerock. At that time there were still residents living there, I believe there were less than 50 people living there. As the name says, there was a big bolder in the middle of town. Not very many buildings left standing but the ones that housed the residents were ok. I remember seeing the town from atop a high ridge and having to drive down a steep dirt road to get to it. My wife didn’t care for that ride but the kids and I enjoyed it. The people we talked to were very friendly but didn’t have too much information about the town. One of these days maybe the wife and I will return to see what has become of it.
