Anlauf was a homestead filed by Robert Anlauf. He died in 1940 at age 83. The place once had a postmaster and a sawmill. The Warren brothers were sentenced to the state penetiniary for moonshine during prohibition. There were efforts to put a military road through during WWII. Most of the last seventy years, the place was only occupied Robert Anlauf descedants. Five grandchildren were living when he died. Descendants are stil found in nearby communities.
Correction: Robert Anlauf was the son of the homesteader, Franz Anlauf, who died in 1914 at age 91.
Franz was my great, great, great grandfather. His granddaughter was my grandmother.
