while not as big as it used to be, Alpine is still here. The last census I could find was 172 folks still here. The old grade school is now a honey company, The city water service has 12 houses hooked up, and yes, The Alpine tavern is still open. They demo ‘d the old Alpine store a few years back and built a new building in its place. The new building has never had anyone move into it . The Alpine winery is still just west of town also.
