This is old River Queen Ferry near Goble Oregon on the Columbia River. There is little information about the ship itself, it’s history, or what the plans are for it. Other then the garage doors added to the front at some point it looks much like it did when it was built.
I’m hoping someone is trying to save it, but in the two years it’s been there no work seems to have been done on it. Perhaps it’s all internal? Either way I’d hate to see this lost. It’s an important part of our heritage and it contributed greatly to the economics of Oregon.

*Update* The owner is trying to get rid of it. Last I heard they’ve offered to give it away to free to anyone who can preserve it.

The Columbia Gorge remains one of my favorite areas in Oregon. No doubt just like everyone else. I’ve spent hours there hiking and taking pictures. The area is quite serene and of course beautiful.
This waterfall is one of my favorites. It’s an unassuming widening in the road. Very few people even stop there. The walk to the falls is short and not that exciting. But 30 feet from the road you’re transported into a whole different world.
