Description:
Lorane’s Post Office was established on May 27, 1887. The first postmaster was William N. Crow. Postmaster authorities asked Crow to come up with a name for the Post Office, he choose the name Loraine for a favorite niece. The Post Office accepted the name, but changed it to Lorane to reduce confusion with other towns already named Loraine.
