Oregon Ghost Towns and other historical locations

This is a major update of my original Google Maps “Historic Oregon” file.

About forty new towns were added. I’ve also separated them out by Category instead of just alphabetical listing. More battles and military sites have been added, along with some general spell checking and links to web pages with information about the site.

There is an old run down house, just down the road from me, which I was told used to be a stage coach stop…It is not proven, but considering the history of this area I would not doubt it.

It’s very possible, they were very common because the stage coaches only traveled 20-30 miles a day. So usually there’d be a stop where people could get food and perhaps a place to sleep out of the weather at night. There is one out between Lakeview Oregon and Denino Nevada along the Warner Highway.
