Description: Founded in 1896 by prospectors looking for gold on Brodie Creek. When gold was discovered one mile north, the entire townsite was moved to Toroda Creek. It’s estimated that $1.3 million in gold was extracted between 1903 and 1940 from area mines. One of these mines, the Golden Reward, was owned by the Wrigley Brothers.
