Bellwood, Oregon

Name: Bellwood, Oregon
Class: A(Unknown)
GPS: Latitude: 45.0751113, Longitude: -123.741224
Directions: On private land, no access

Description:
The only reference I can find to Bellwood is in “Oregon post offices, 1847-1982″ by Richard W. Helbock.

A post office was established here on November 15th, 1899. Benjamin H. Stillman was the first Post Master. The Post Office only lasted seven years, closing on August 15th, 1906. It was moved to nearby Dolph.

Bellwood is definitely a ghost town these days. There is little to no information available about it that I can find beyond the above.

If you have any more information about this town, please leave a comment below. Was it a recreation town for people wanting to fish the Little Nestucca River? Or was it a timber town?
